Parks & Open Spaces

Council currently maintains about 160 parks and reserves around the region, with many parks fitted with state of the art, Australian standards compliant equipment for better and safer playgrounds. These play stations have child friendly designs that appeal to all ages and challenge kids. Some playgrounds have disability friendly equipment, with a liberty swing installed in Stanthorpe's Weeroona Park and Warwick's Leslie Park. Some parks have been fitted with fitness equipment (Kilpa Street Park, Stanthorpe and Federation Park, Warwick) for the enjoyment of all wanting to exercise in our beautiful parklands along the waterways.  Australiana Park in Warwick has a velodrome and BMX track for cycling enthusiasts.

Book a Park

Council's parks are primarily provided for the enjoyment of families.  If you are planning a large gathering or event, you may be required to obtain a Permit to conduct your event in one of Council's parks.  You can apply for a Permit for your event by visiting or phoning Council, or downloading the booking application form (PDF 333.7KB) and submitting it to Council.  Fees and conditions apply.  (See Council's Fees & Charges)
