Using our Parks

Something for everyone, all ages and all abilities

Council currently maintains about 160 parks and reserves around the region fitted with recreational facilities, playgrounds, walking tracks, barbecue and picnic shelters to appeal to leisure needs for all ages.

Using our Parks

In the majority of instances, no bookings are required for use of council parks and reserves.  Council encourages the community to use the facilities within our parks.  You can hold events such as BBQs, family gatherings, birthday parties, informal group exercise without needing to book a park.  Please note you are unable to reserve tables and BBQs, and you are unable to use facilities exclusively.

Did you know? If you are intending to use commercial shade structures, large inflatables (eg. jumping castles) or drive vehicles onto parks, or require power, a Park Permit will be required.

Can commercial events be held in Council Parks?

If you are planning to host an event, you may be required to obtain a Permit to conduct your event in one of Council's parks.  You can apply for a Permit for your event by visiting or phoning Council, or downloading the booking application form (PDF 333.7KB) and submitting it to Council (conditions apply).
