KCGI has proposed to establish a Killarney Community Garden as a community space to be enjoyed by all, both residents and visitors alike. Only members of the KCGI will be able to garden, but everyone will be welcome to wander through to enjoy the garden and take advantage of seating areas.

Killarney Community Garden Plan

Detailed design plans have not been developed yet. However, is it anticipated key features will include garden beds (including accessible beds for gardening from wheelchairs or other seated positions), fruit trees, composting area, worm farm, storage space for tools, outdoor tables and chairs, and possibly fencing for delineation of the area.

It is proposed that membership will be available to any person aged 14 years or over who supports KCGI’s vision and purpose, agrees to abide by KCGI’s management plan and pays the annual membership fee. The fee amount has not yet been set, but KCGI expect it to initially be around $5. Operating hours have not been finalised, but KCGI would like the garden to be open 24 hours a day.

This survey closes on Friday, 13 June 2025.
