Stage 4 of the Warwick Saleyards Redevelopment Project is underway.
Funded by the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program, Stage 4 upgrades include earthworks and relevelling across high-use areas to improve drainage and reduce safety risks; new fencing to support safer and more efficient stock movement; and carpark upgrades to improve weather resilience and accessibility for users.
A major component of the works will be the replacement of the existing sheep office with a fit-for-purpose space, in addition to the upgrade of essential services across the site, including improved water runoff management.
Council’s spokesperson for Productive Communities Cr Carla Pidgeon said continued investment by the Queensland Government and Council reflects a united commitment to the long-term viability of the precinct and the broader agricultural industry.
“The Saleyards are a vital hub for our rural community and local economy,” Cr Pidgeon said.
“These upgrades are about delivering safer, smarter infrastructure that meets the needs of the industry and supports the future of livestock trading in our region.
“This next stage of upgrades reflects our shared vision for a thriving, sustainable future for the Saleyards facility and the producers who rely on it.”
The Warwick Saleyards – Development Stage 4 Project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program in partnership with Council.
