The Allora Precinct Redevelopment Project continues to move forward, with construction progressing on delivering a revitalised community hub that will bring people together to learn, grow and connect.
The redevelopment will combine Allora Library and other key services under one roof, improving accessibility and creating a lively, central hub for all ages.
Southern Downs Councillor Carla Pidgeon said the precinct redevelopment highlights Council’s focus on delivering infrastructure that supports both wellbeing and sustainable growth.
“It’s encouraging to see the Allora Precinct Redevelopment taking shape as we move closer to completion,” Councillor Pidgeon said.
“This project goes beyond building structures— it’s about creating a dynamic space that will support lifelong learning and community connection.
“We appreciate the patience of the Allora community during construction.
“Once complete, this precinct will be a valuable asset that will serve the community well into the future.”
Southern Downs Councillor Morwenna Harslett said the new library would offer more than just traditional services, becoming a central space for community connection and growth.
“Libraries have always been places where communities grow stronger, and the new Allora
Library will be a welcoming space that meets the evolving needs of the local community and offers residents of all ages a safe and inspiring space to gather, explore ideas and share stories,” Councillor Harslett said.
“From quiet reading corners to modern meeting spaces, this precinct will provide something for everyone—reflecting Allora’s unique charm while meeting contemporary community needs.”
The project also includes upgrades to the septic, heating and lighting systems, as well as creating a new after-hours back entry.
The Allora Precinct Redevelopment Project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government’s Works for Queensland program in association with Southern Downs Regional Council.
