Queensland Youth Week 2024 is set to groove, move and inspire Southern Downs youth between 7 to 13 April 2024, with an amazing line-up of FREE events that celebrate and recognise the amazing achievements of young people aged 12 to 25 years.

From the BBQ & Beats Arvo Sessions to a cosplay/comic-on event, Southern Downs Regional Council has partnered with respected local youth service providers to bring live music and positive vibes to the region.

Council’s Chief Executive Officer Dave Burges said this year’s calendar of events celebrates the younger generation’s character and creativity as they navigate life.

“Our young people are tomorrow’s leaders, and Queensland Youth Queensland Week provides an opportunity for the community to acknowledge their accomplishments and resilience,” Mr Burges said.

“It's fantastic to see such support for youth engagement and entertainment during Queensland Youth Week, providing opportunities for young people to connect, celebrate and showcase their talents.

“Council is proud to partner with Borderline Australia for the BBQ & Beats Arvo Sessions in our skate parks for electrifying fusions of music, talent and inspiration, with live performances by Robbie Hunt from The Voice 2023, singer/songwriter Will Baker and TikTok legend Nat Alise.

“Last year, Council supported headspace Warwick in hosting the region’s first cosplay/comic-on event, and we are pleased to bring the magic back to the Warwick Town Hall in 2024.

“Whether you’re jamming to tunes, donning your favourite character’s attire or simply soaking up the community spirit, Queensland Youth Week promises to be a highlight on the Southern Downs calendar.”
