There’s no excuse for the kids to be bored these school holidays! Southern Downs Regional Libraries have crafted a jam-packed Easter-themed program to keep the kids entertained and amused.

Southern Downs Councillor Marco Gliori encouraged the community to take advantage of the free program and join in the fun at the libraries this Easter break.

“Keeping the kids entertained these school holidays doesn’t need to be expensive. Our libraries offer free activities for kids of all ages,” Councillor Gliori said.

“The Easter school holiday program is EGGstra exciting with an Easter Treasure Hunt, Easter Egg Guessing Game and Take & Make craft packs at Warwick, Allora and Stanthorpe libraries.

“So Mum and Dad, don’t let the boredom set in or spend a fortune these school holidays on keeping the kids entertained.

“Holiday programs like this foster community spirit, it’s where new friendships are made and where adventure awaits enquiring minds.

“We look forward to seeing everyone at our libraries these school holidays.”

For teenagers, special book bags will be available between Tuesday 11 and Saturday 15 April on a first come, first served basis. The idea is kids can borrow a library book and keep the bag and its goodies which includes a mini squishy, badge, notebook, pen, book review card and some lollies.

The Easter school holiday program officially kicks off on Saturday 1 April 2023.
