Exciting works to commence at the Australiana Park Velodrome

9 February 2021

The exciting new upgrades at the Australiana Park Velodrome, Warwick are expected to start on Tuesday 23 February 2021.

Funded by the Federal Government through its Local Roads and Community Infrastructure Program, the $219,000 works will include the resealing of the track and an overhaul of the facility’s lighting system.

Once works commence, the velodrome will be closed for approximately five days.

A Council spokesperson said: “We thank the community for their cooperation and patience while we refurbish the velodrome track and upgrade this valuable asset in our community for our local cyclist enthusiasts.

“We envisage that these necessary works will be warmly received by the sporting community and may even appeal to the emerging roller-skaters in Warwick.

“These works signal very clearly that Council is committed to upgrading its infrastructure and creating new outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.

“Australiana Park recently benefited from the construction of the amazing Learn to Ride Park and these additional works at the velodrome will make the park a diverse sporting hub for our residents.”

Construction dates and timeframes are subject to change and weather dependent.
