A plan for Dalveen!

A plan for Dalveen!

7 December 2020

Dalveen is the next Southern Downs township set to benefit from the Urban Design Framework project and residents are invited to share their thoughts on the future of their beloved community at an open workshop on Tuesday 15 December 2020.

The Dalveen Urban Design Framework will consider how design, land use and community activities come together to shape Dalveen as a town and will outline future initiatives to enhance the character and identity of Dalveen.

Southern Downs Councillor Sheryl Windle said the workshop offered the opportunity for the local community to be heard on what was important about their town and how to enrich the township’s unique charm and character.

“Dalveen is already an amazing, quaint township and this project aims to make it even better,” Councillor Windle said.

“Urban design frameworks are integral to enhancing the functionality, liveability, character and spirit of an urban area and I hope the community steps forward with their thoughts and ideas on how Dalveen can shine.

“This is a plan for Dalveen and a prime opportunity for the proud community to be heard and to be instrumental in the township’s future.”

Urban design consultants Ethos Urban will host the Our Dalveen workshop at the Dalveen Community Hall between 4pm and 6pm. Council officers will be available to help facilitate the workshop and provide support.

Urban Design Frameworks have been completed in Wallangarra, Leyburn and Maryvale.
