Liberty Swing

Liberty Swing, a special piece of playground equipment designed for people with special needs

Southern Downs Regional Council is proud to offer the community two Liberty Swings, a special piece of playground equipment designed for people with special needs.

Warwick

Located in Warwick's most accessible playground in Leslie Park, the swing can be used with or without a wheelchair. This facility was made possible by a combination of funds from the Southern Downs Regional Council, Variety Club of Queensland and Rotary Club of Warwick, in October 2011.

Families and carers are encouraged to apply for an access key to operate the swing by contacting Council. Groups are encouraged to utilise the booking system to secure your usage.

The major partners in this joint project were Southern Downs Regional Council, Variety Club of Queensland and Rotary Club of Warwick with additional support from Warwick Apex.

Stanthorpe

Another Liberty Swing is also available in Stanthorpe, in the beautiful Weeroona Park on Marsh Street.

Application for Liberty Swing Hire

To be able to enter the Liberty Swing, you will need to acquire the key, free of charge, from Council.

If you or your group intends on using the swing on a regular basis, Council offers a long term borrower term for ease of use.

To book a key or arrange a long term borrower term, please contact Council.
