Wild Dog Control & Planning Day - Goomburra

Southern Downs Regional Council in conjunction with Granite Borders Landcare Committee will host a wild dog control and planning day for local landholders at Goomburra Hall. The aim of the day is to reduce wild dog predation levels to an acceptable level within the control area by formulating and implementing a working wild dog strategy. The day has been funded by the Queensland Feral Pest Initiative. Funding for the Southern Downs Regional Council Queensland Feral Pest Initiative project is provided through the Queensland Government to support the growth of a productive and prosperous food and fibre sector in Queensland.

Some of the topics covered include predicting wild dog movements and breeding cycles, control activities, the history of wild dog activity in the area, known dog routes and key baiting areas, the use of 1800 baits, identifying signs of pest animals and more.
