The Queen’s Baton Relay is a once in a lifetime opportunity to be a part of the Southern Down’s own piece of Commonwealth Games history, when it arrives in Warwick on March 29, after making its epic journey around the world. Share in the community spirit by cheering on the region’s local legends and community heroes as they make their way through Warwick with the Baton. Preparations for a community celebration at Leslie Park are well under way, with hundreds of the region’s school students to take part in the excitement. QBR Community Celebrations start at 8am on Thursday, March 29 with plenty of entertainment, a free sausage sizzle, coffee vans and food stalls. At 9.15am the Queen’s Baton will arrive at Leslie Park Youth Stage in Warwick’s own unique way, where it will officially welcomed by the Southern Downs community. The Baton will then make its journey through Warwick CBD, making its way down Palmerin St from Leslie Park at about 9.45am.
