Southern Downs Regional Council has today made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2021 Warwick Carols in the Park.
The 2021 Warwick Carols in the Park was to take place in Queens Park on Sunday 12 December from 6pm, however Council officers have today inspected the grounds and determined that following the recent floods the venue is not suitable for the event.
Other options such as Leslie Park have been investigated, however the saturation levels of the park grounds would not be able to sustain the foot traffic of thousands of ticket holders and food vendors with heavy trailers.
With no other suitable option available in Warwick that could cater for an outdoor event of this size and with additional rains forecasted for the weekend, Council has had to make this difficult choice.
Council thanks Cleanaway and Zooma Signs who have generously come on board as major sponsors of Warwick Carols in the Park and hope to work alongside them again for the event in 2022.
Stanthorpe Carols in the Park scheduled at 06:30pm on Friday 10 December in Weeroona Park will continue as planned and Warwick families are invited to join in the fun in Stanthorpe if possible.
