Southern Downs Regional Council wishes to advise residents that an area of Australiana Park has been cordoned off as a precaution while it investigates a small amount of what is suspected to be asbestos found at the location.
The non-friable material has been removed and is not considered to pose any significant risk to users of the park.
As is standard practice, the material has been sent for analysis and any further action will be taken when those results are received.
As a precaution only, Council has taken the step of restricting access to the area and wishes to reassure residents and visitors that Australiana Park remains available for use.
