Global provider of natural medicines and therapies Integria Healthcare has backed Warwick as one of its major production sites with the announcement of a new $7 million state-of-the-art manufacturing and warehouse facility.
The investment and planned expansion is expected to provide a significant boost for the local economy by creating jobs and ongoing employment opportunities in Warwick and surrounds.
Councillor for Economic Development, Regional Promotion and Tourism Rod Kelly said the project reinforced the Southern Downs as a prime industrial destination.
“This major investment speaks volumes for Integria’s confidence in our region,” said Councillor Kelly.
“The project will generate a range of significant benefits for the Southern Downs by creating jobs during construction and ongoing employment opportunities within Integria’s operations.
“Our region is home to a diverse range of businesses that all provide exceptional employment opportunities for our residents. Whether it is a local winery or multinational company, Council is proud to work with the business community to ensure our region thrives.”
Integria has already invested $21M in the Warwick site over the last five years as part of its strategy to build a sustainable business, fit for future market requirements.
A spokesperson from Integria Healthcare said that this next phase of investment on the Southern Downs will position the Warwick location as a fully integrated process and packaging facility.
The Warwick site is critical to supply markets in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, China and Canada.
