Southern Downs Regional Council and Community Services Industry Alliance (CSIA) have worked together to deliver a workshop on Planning in Times of Disaster for Businesses Continuity for local organisations or business. Using Industry developed tools and resources, you will walk away with an understanding of how to build your plan as well as the start or review of your current plan. You will also get the opportunity to connect with other organisations to build networks to plan and meet future disasters in your region.
Disasters are a disruption to your business and organisation. But with the right planning and preparedness, you can find the balance between continuing to deliver your services, managing the impact on your infrastructure and staff, and supporting your community.
Please join us for an interactive free workshop that will support your organisation or businesses to:
- Develop understanding of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) in times of disaster
- Participate in scenario planning to identify gaps in your current BCP or to start your BCP
- Provide tools and resources to complete BCP in your own organisation
- Raise awareness of ensuring BCP is inclusive of people with disability and other vulnerable people in the local community
This workshop is part of the broader Building Inclusive Disaster Resilient Communities (BIDRC) – Queenslanders With Disability Network (qdn.org.au) (BIDRC) project and a partnership between Queenslanders with Disability Network (QDN), the Centre for Disability Research and Policy at the University of Sydney, Community Services Industry Alliance (CSIA) and funded Australian Government’s Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources.
BIDRC is a community-led initiative bringing together people with disability, local Council, emergency services, disability service providers, and other local community leaders to co-design local strategies and initiatives to increase community resilience to disaster and co-creating solutions and initiatives that increase community resilience to disaster through inclusive emergency preparedness actions.
