How to Receive your Rate Notices via Email

It's easy and convenient to receive your rate notices direct to your email inbox.

Go paperless!

You can now choose to receive your Southern Downs Regional Council rates, water and animal notices via email.  This is a safer and more secure way for Council to send your notices to you and it means all your bills will be conveniently stored online in one place for you to access. It is better for the environment.

There are many other benefits to switching from paper bills to digital ones like being able to:

  • Receive your notice promptly - faster than standard mail
  • Save costs through reduced paper, printing, envelopes and postage
  • View your current bills online
  • Add and view details for multiple properties in your name
  • Change your email address and phone number

To access your bills in Payreq, simply create a Payreq account and you’ll automatically be able to access your bill history and other features in the future.

How to go paperless

It is quick and easy to set up using Council's ebilling portal at Payreq. Payreq provides a secure-by-design, private digital space that is accessible online or via an app in which you can access and manage your rate notices. Payreq is Australian owned and certified to global information security standards.

You will need:

  • A current email address and contact phone number
  • A copy of your most recent rate or water consumption notice

 Step 1

Click on the Subscribe Now button below to complete the Payreq-hosted FastForm email registration form. You will need to complete this form for each property that you own.

Step 2

Enter your:

  • Email address and contact phone number
  • BPAY View Registration Number from your last rate notice
  • Name exactly as it appears on the rate notice
Step 3

Read the terms and conditions and agree to them by placing a tick in the box and clicking on “Next”.

Step 4

Confirm your registration using the 6-digit verification code you will receive via email.

That's it!  You will now receive rate notices via email and you can login to view them online at any time.

Please note that registration will take effect for the next rates notice issue.

Southern Downs Regional Council collects and manages personal information in the course of performing its activities, functions and duties. We respect the privacy of the personal information held by us. The way in which council manages personal information is governed by the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld). We are collecting your personal information in accordance with Local Government Act 2009 so that we can manage your contact details and provide you with an electronic rating notice. Generally, we will not disclose your personal information outside of Council unless we are required to do so by law, or unless you have given us your consent to such disclosure. However, in performing the above functions, we may need to disclose your personal information to Payreq.
