Hear from some of our locals on the benefits of doing business in the Southern Downs.

Taylor Family Produce

Taylor Family Produce, based in the Granite Belt, is one of the largest horticulture producers in the Southern Downs region. Fourth generation farmer and managing director Ray Taylor discusses the financial and logistical benefits of doing business on the Southern Downs.

John Dee

John Dee is the oldest, single family owned meat processor in Australia, exporting worldwide to Asia, Europe and North America. The region’s largest employer, John Dee is located in Warwick, providing outstanding access to both highway networks and livestock.

Fraser's Livestock Transport

Fraser’s Livestock Transport, based in Warwick, transports more than four million head of cattle each year. The Southern Downs’ excellent access to national road networks has helped the family company grow from a single truck operation to a fleet of more than 50 prime movers and 150 trailers.

ACCIONA Energía

Although the MacIntyre Wind Farm only started construction in 2022, the benefits of this project are shared far and wide in the Southern Downs community.
