Operating Short-Term Rental Accommodation

Our region is known for its rich and fertile land which supports fruit and vegetable growing, sheep and cattle grazing as well as a strong winery and tourism industry. Holiday and workers accommodation is a vital part in supporting these industries and Southern Downs Regional Council values the role this type of accommodation plays.

The following Council local laws provide a guide to the community on how to operate these types of accommodation in a responsible manner and require operators to apply for and hold a permit to operate such accommodation:

Applying for a Permit to Operate

Complete the application form listed below, and submit back to Council at least 30 days prior to your intended start date to allow Council officers adequate time to make an assessment:
