Council is the trustee of Washpool Reserve, which is State land that is marked for camping.
Washpool camping reserve is located at the southern end of the Leslie Dam and offers an alternative for families who are considering taking their children camping.

Sites
Washpool Reserve has 33 powered sites, allocated on a first in first serve basis, and a number of non‐powered sites such as tent sites, drive-thru sites that fit both big and small caravans.

Bookings
The site has a self-registration system and Council Officers visit daily to collect payments and check campers have registered correctly.
There is a box on site with self-registration camping forms which are self explanatory.
No pre-bookings are available.
Please note campers can stay a maximum of 7 days only.

Camping Rules
- Fire restrictions apply
- Campfires for cooking only
- All flora & fauna is protected
- All vehicles to remain on formed roads and other designated areas
- Noise curfew is 10:30pm to 6am
- Camping is restricted to areas designated by the Reserve Manager
Absolutely NO:
- Dogs, cats or domestic pets, horses and livestock
- Bonfires or unattended fires
- Glass bottles
- Explosive devices and weapons
- Unregistered motor vehicles
- Camping beyond tree line
- Generators beyond treeline
Southern Downs Regional Council suggests that you consider arranging firewood prior to attending Washpool Camping Ground particularly if you were planning on having a small campfire for cooking etc. It is illegal to trespass on neighbouring properties to steal firewood.
