Proposal to Make
Amendment Subordinate Local Law No. 1 (Animal Management) 2019


Southern Downs Regional Council has proposed to make Amendment Subordinate Local Law No. 1 (Animal Management) 2019 ('the subordinate local law').

The purpose and general effect of the subordinate local law are to amend Subordinate Local Law No. 2 (Animal Management) 2011 to prohibit the keeping of rams within the designated town areas, and prohibit the keeping of animals at the Massie and Applethorpe aerodromes.  

Local Law No. 1 (Administration) 2011 and Local Law No. 2 (Animal Management) 2011 authorise the making of the subordinate local law.  

Written submissions by any person in support of, or objecting to, the subordinate local law are invited for a 21 day period commencing on 14 May 2019 and ending on 4 June 2019 (the 'consultation period') stating -  
(i) the grounds of the submission; and
(ii) he facts and circumstances relied on in support of the grounds.

During the consultation period, the subordinate local law will be available for inspection and purchase at Council's offices at 64 Fitzroy Street, Warwick, and 61 Marsh Street, Stanthorpe. The subordinate local law is also available for viewing on Council's website, www.sdrc.qld.gov.au
