Community Drought Recovery Projects 2020

APPLICATIONS HAVE NOW CLOSED

Southern Downs Regional Council has been allocated funding from the Australian Government through the Drought Communities Programme - Extension Grant to deliver economic stimulus and other benefits to drought-affected regions of Australia. The program will support local community infrastructure and other drought relief projects for communities who have been impacted by drought.

Applications are invited from regional community organisations to undertake upgrades to community halls, clubhouses and community managed facilities.

Key dates

  • Applications Open: Monday, 14th September 2020
  • Applications Close: 9am Monday, 12 October 2020
  • Project Completion: 31 December 2020
  • Project acquittal Due: 28 January 2021 or 4 weeks after project completion

Council understands that this is a short timeframe. If your project cannot be delivered in this timeframe, we would still encourage you to apply and indicate your estimated date of completion.

Who is eligible to apply?

Eligible Not Eligible
Not-for-profit community groups located in the Southern Downs Region providing a service with a broad community benefit.  Businesses, individuals, for-profit companies and Trusts. Community or Recreational Groups whose sole purpose is for members only. Government Agencies or Departments of Local, State or Federal Government and Statutory Authorities (includes Rural Fire Brigades). Public or Private Educational Institutions (inc. Parents & Citizens and Parents & Friends Associations)
