Manager Water

Manager Water

  • Genuine leadership focus
  • Drive key change agenda
  • Exceptional work/life balance

One of Queensland’s iconic rural regions, The Southern Downs offers an idyllic environment situated on the New South Wales border and in the shadow of the Great Dividing Range. Home to 32,000 residents and with a strong economic foundation based on horticulture, agriculture, commerce, manufacturing and tourism, the area offers an exceptional work/life balance.

Council is looking for a Manager Water who can both lead from the front and inspire by example.

With an initial emphasis on developing effective asset management strategies and a safety focused culture, you will play an integral role in driving operational and cultural change initiatives while also managing and overseeing the effective delivery of water supplies and sewerage services across the region. Other key deliverables will include the development and implementation of the financial plan and capital program, preparation of design briefs and providing insight and subject expert advice across the business.

A qualified Civil Engineer, you will have broad experience across water and waste-water projects – from dam management through to effluent reuse. Your exceptional communication and leadership skills mean you can provide the focal point and direction during periods of major change and transformation and have a proactive, hands-on approach to issue resolution.

These are exciting and challenging times at Southern Downs, so if you are ready to have a key influence over major change initiatives, this is the ideal role.

Please take the time to peruse the New Residents Information Booklet found on Council’s Website: This booklet provides information which may assist you in settling in and help you find your way around the region.

As a new resident, you can also access a 'New Residents Kit' which provides real incentives to shop local, with businesses across the Southern Downs region offering vouchers valued at around $7000 in total.
