Condamine River Road closed
21 July 2021 [Updated]
Recent rain experienced on the Southern Downs has caused flooding of the river crossings at Condamine River Road and on 15 July the road was closed due to safety concerns. Council Officers inspected the road again on Tuesday 20 July and with some of the crossings still at height, the road remains closed.
The road conditions will be inspected again before the weekend and Council will issue an update in due course.
Cambanoora Gorge is a natural treasure and is home to vulnerable species such as platypus that call the streams along the 14 River Crossings home. The Condamine River Road traverses the entire gorge and as a public road is a delicate part of the ecosystem.
And remember, if it is flooded, forget it!
