Public Notice: Road works on Jack Smith Gully Road, Swan Creek

30 September 2021

Jack Smith Gully Road provides an important connection from Yangan Road to the Cunningham Highway for rural traffic and works to rehabilitate and strengthen the road are expected to start on Tuesday 5 October 2021, weather permitting.

Operating under traffic-control arrangements, the six-week project may cause minor delays for road users during construction.

A Council spokesperson said staff would endeavour to minimise disruptions where possible and urged the community be cooperative and vigilant near the road works at all times.

“The safety of road users and our staff during construction is paramount and following the directions of on-site officers and signage will go a long way to keeping the site incident-free and completing the project within the expected timeframe,” the spokesperson said.

“Our on-site staff will help make sure local residents in the area still have access to and from their properties.

“Council appreciates the community’s cooperation and patience during construction.”

Standard construction hours will be between 6.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.

This project is proudly funded by the Queensland Government through the Transport Infrastructure Development Scheme and Southern Downs Regional Council.

Please note that these works were previously announced as commencing in July, however the start date was delayed due to urgent flood recovery works.
