Council’s customer service staff shine at national government awards

Southern Downs Regional Council’s customer service staff were recognised at a national level at the recent 2019 National Local Government Awards at Port Macquarie.

The light shone brightest on Council’s Community Contact and Records Coordinator, Keith Clarke who won the 2019 National Local Government Award for Leadership in Customer Service.

Southern Downs Regional Council Chief Executive Officer David Keenan said that the national award recognised and acknowledged the values that Clarke and his customer service team applied to their jobs each and every day.

“This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the exceptional work undertaken by Keith and his team,” said Mr Keenan.

“Keith deals with concerned customers and complex requests from residents, and consistently demonstrates all aspects of Council’s Values and Expected Behaviours.

“He provides leadership and enthusiasm to members of the community as well as the SDRC team – well done Keith Clarke!”

Council’s Customer Service Contact Centre staff were also recognised as finalists at the awards.
