Community invited to take part in Q&A on big issues impacting the region
11 June 2019
Do you have a question for Council? The community is invited to take the opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback on the big issues impacting the region.
Southern Downs Regional Council will host Question and Answer sessions at Warwick Town Hall, Monday, 17 June from 5:30pm to 7:30pm and at Stanthorpe Civic Centre, Wednesday, 19 June from 5:30pm to 7:30pm.
Southern Downs Mayor Tracy Dobie said that while resident can ask about any topic of interest, the sessions will focus on key issues.
“The Q&A sessions will focus on the drought’s impact on the region’s water supplies, what actions Council has taken to address this impact and what plans Council has to ensure access to drinking water in the future,” Cr Dobie said.
“The sessions will also focus on the recently adopted 2019-2020 Annual Budget and Council’s planned Capital Works program.
“It is important our community is engaged with these issues and we appreciate the important feedback we receive from our residents as it informs our policy and budget decisions that shape our region.
“This is a great opportunity for residents to ask questions, share any concerns, speak with their Councillors and ensure they receive the most accurate and up-to-date information on the big issues impacting the Southern Downs.
“We encourage everyone to attend the Q&As and engage with Council on the key issues as well as any other important topics they would like to see discussed.”
