Restricted outdoor water use times change on Southern Downs
Southern Downs Regional Council is urging residents to take note of changed times for outdoor water use under the current water restrictions.
As of October 1, outdoor water use times changed to 6am to 8am and 5pm to 7pm on each property’s allocated day.
Council reminds residents that a property’s allocated day is determined by the street address, not unit number.
Therefore if the address is Unit 3/22 Walker St, the property would be allocated as an even number.
Outdoor water use is permitted between the above times for:
* Odd house number/no house number – On odd calendar dates only
* Even house numbers – On even calendar dates only
Southern Downs residents are also reminded the current medium water restrictions will change to high water restrictions by November 1, 2018.
These restrictions are currently in place to remind residents to use water efficiently at all times.
The current target water consumption per person per day on the Southern Downs is 200 litres.
Under potential high water restrictions, this target will drop to 170 litres per person per day, or approximately 19 household buckets.
