New website sells Southern Downs as destination for growth and opportunity

The region is set to benefit from growth and investment after Southern Downs Regional Council launched the second phase of its Invest Southern Downs campaign with a new website and video to boot.

Launched at Parliament House in Brisbane on Tuesday, SDRC’s new website is the latest in Council’s marketing toolkit for residential attraction and investment.

“Council’s new website is just one way we are working to market our wonderful region to new business and potential residents and investors,” Southern Downs Mayor Tracy Dobie said.

“Our region has so much to offer when it comes to liveability and economic opportunity and Council is continually working to encourage growth.

“Now is the time for us to take every opportunity to ensure the Southern Downs reaches its potential.”

The new website spotlights local families and individuals who share their stories of relocating to the region and promote the best of living on the Southern Downs. also showcases what the region has to offer across jobs, property, lifestyle and education, and features economic data to assist investors and businesses interested in the region.

Council’s primary tool for marketing the region, the website has the potential to reach a large audience and will be used to support other projects and campaigns.

SDRC’s Economic Development and Tourism team is working hard behind the scenes in a bid to increase investment in the region through a range of investment attraction activities.

The launch of the website follows Council’s recent adoption of Shaping Southern Downs, a visionary plan to grow the region and to attract 50,000 new residents.

Over the next three years, the Southern Downs will welcome more than 1000 new jobs across a range of industries.

SDRC is working closely with new and expanding businesses, which are looking to establish themselves or expand in the region to ensure their long-term success and sustainability and to grow the region’s economy.

Invest Southern Downs is an essential tool for Council in working to deliver a range of economic benefits to the region, including increasing the number of jobs in the region, opportunity for growth in the region’s existing sectors and driving new business and the production of goods and services.
