Hendon set to benefit from major works under Roads to Recovery Program
Residents and motorists are set to benefit from capital roads works being undertaken by Southern Downs Regional Council in Hendon.
Funded by the Federal Government’s Roads to Recovery Program, the project will improve the amenity of the streets and improve road safety.
The works are being undertaken due to increased traffic and road use in the Hendon area and will commence in August.
Southern Downs Mayor Tracy Dobie said the works are a part of Council’s ongoing commitment to upgrading the region’s infrastructure.
“The Hendon community gave their feedback and showed their support for the capital works project during community consultation on the 2018-19 Budget,” Cr Dobie said.
“These works will significantly improve road safety and the quality of the roads for motorists travelling to Hendon and build important infrastructure for the community’s future.”
