Grants to Community: Fast Grant Open

29 November 2017

Southern Downs Regional Council is reminding new, emerging and existing not-for-profit organisations that grant funding is still available this financial year for the Grants to Community – Fast Grant which is aimed at providing small amounts of financial assistance where a short-term emergent or immediate need for a project or activity arises.  The maximum grant available is capped at $1,000.

The Fast Grant is not available to applicants that have received the Community Grant, Event Grant, Sport & Recreation Grant nor if they are recipients of Council’s annual Operational Funding or Major Events Sponsorship this financial year.

The Fast Grant closes on Friday, 15 June 2018 for projects taking place between 16 December 2017 and 30 June 2018.

As always, applicants are encouraged to read the Grants to Community 2017-2018 Guidelines (Version 3) which was updated recently and available on Council’s Website – Doing Business – Grants to Community.

To make an application, visit Council’s website, Doing Business, Grants to Community, scroll down to the heading Application Forms, and click on the Fast Grant Link which will re-direct to the application form to be completed online via SmartyGrants.

“I am not aware of many not-for-profit organisations within the Southern Downs that would not appreciate a financial injection no matter how big or small, so I encourage organisations to jump onto Council’s website and start completing their application,” said Mayor Dobie.

Any not-for-profit organisations that have been unsuccessful or ineligible for Council funding in the past are welcome to phone Council’s Community Services Officer (Grants) to make an appointment to discuss their previous application and how it could be improved for future submissions.

If you have any questions or need assistance with Council’s Grants to Community, please contact Council’s Community Services Officer (Grants) on 1300 697 372, visit Council’s website, read the Guidelines or contact SmartyGrants.  There are many avenues you can try.  Good luck!
