Allora
Known by the locals as the ‘best little town on the Downs’, Allora nestles beside Dalrymple Creek just off the highway between Warwick and Toowoomba and is home to just under 1000 people. Allora has a strong sense of history, with an old-time charming streetscape, heritage buildings and memorials.
Things to Do
Vast fields of sunflowers line the highways near Allora every summer. Allora also enjoys a number of annual events include the Allora Heritage Weekend, Allora Autumn Festival and the Allora Community Auction. Take a walk around the streets to see late 1800s and 1900s timber architecture including CBC Bank, the Railway Hotel, the old Shire Chambers, the Queensland National Bank and the Commercial Hotel. The Allora & District Historical Society operates two museums, the Old Allora Shire Hall and the School of Arts, and the Allora Sports Museum is also worth a visit. Allora is located only 25 minutes outside Warwick, providing a perfect location for those working in Warwick who wish to live in this charming town. With Toowoomba only 30 minutes away, Allora also offers residents a viable commute for those wishing to work in Toowoomba. The largest employers in Allora include the Darwalla Chicken Hatchery.

Allora offers a range of housing with Queenslanders and Federation style homes the most popular. Locals who live in town enjoy the convenience of easily walking to shops and restaurants on the main street. Larger rural residential blocks outside of town are also available.
Education
Allora State School offers Prep to Grade 10 schooling, with many students completing Grade 11-12 in nearby Warwick. St Patrick’s College offers private primary schooling. C&K Allora Community Kindergarten and Allora Headstart Child Care Centre also operate in the area.
