Parks & Open Spaces

Dalrymple Creek Park - Allora Southern Downs, with its rural lifestyle and great open spaces, offers many parks and reserves for public use. There are many rest and picnic areas with beautiful scenery of well maintained gardens to enjoy, stroll along rivers and creeks or enjoy a BBQ with the kids.

Council currently maintains about 160 parks and reserves around the region, with many parks fitted with state of the art, Australian standards compliant equipment for better and safer playgrounds. These play stations have child friendly designs that appeal to all ages and challenge kids. Some playgrounds have disability friendly equipment.

Weeroona Park - Playground - StanthorpeAs well as playground equipment, some parks have been fitted with fitness equipment that is enjoyed by many who want to keep fit.

Council has been replacing old amenities with modern new structures that meet the Crime Prevention Through Engineering and Design (CPTED) standards. These new amenities are cleaner, safer, have better lighting and are designed to resist vandalism.

Book a Park

Council's parks are preimarily provided for the enjoyment of families.  If you are planning a large gathering or event, you may be required to obtain a Permit to conduct your event in one of Council's parks.  You can apply for a Permit for your event by visiting or phoning Council, or downloading the booking application form (PDF 128.3KB) and submitting it to Council.  Fees and conditions apply.  (See Council's Fees & Charges)
