Celebrate Seniors this August: A Queensland for All Ages
This August ‘Seniors Month’ on the Southern Downs is offering up numerous events and activities right across the region, in celebration of the contributions that older people make to our community.
This year it’s a celebration for all ages – not just our seniors.
Although the rest of the state celebrates Seniors Week, on the Southern Downs the celebration runs all month because there are so many activities and events that seniors – and all members of the community – can get involved in.
Along with a jam-packed calendar of events, Seniors Month will showcase two major expos in Stanthorpe on August 23 and Warwick on August 24.
The Granite Belt Seniors Expo will be held at the Stanthorpe Civic Centre, Cnr Lock & Marsh Streets, between 10am-2pm on Wednesday, August 23, and will offer a Broadway themed musical extravaganza with information booths, raffles, a fashion parade, entertainment and more. A free morning tea and light lunch will be provided. The Granite Belt Seniors Expo is hosted by Community Development Services Stanthorpe and proudly supported by the Southern Downs Regional Council.
For more information about the Granite Belt Seniors Expo contact Diane Mitchell on 4681 3777 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to book your seat.
The 11th Annual Seniors Leisure and Lifestyle Expo will be held at the Warwick Senior Citizens Hall, 13A Albert Street between 10am-1pm on Thursday 24th August, and will showcase over 50 information stalls dedicated to seniors’ health and wellbeing. Southern Downs Regional Council is proud to partner with the Warwick Senior Citizens Association to deliver the expo to the community.
