Council
owns and operates two dams, Connolly Dam and Storm King Dam, that are classed
are ‘referable’ under the Section 352S of the Water Supply (Safety and Reliability) Act 2008.
A 'referable dam' is a dam that would put two or more people at risk in the event
of a dam failure. Referable dams are required to have an approved
emergency action plan (EAP) in place to minimise the consequences of dam
failure and the impact on those at risk as much as practicable.
The approved EAP for Storm King Dam and Connolly Dam can be viewed at the website of Department of Regional Development, Manufacturing and Water.
