Wheelie Bin Collections
Southern Downs Regional Council provides kerbside waste and recycling collections to the majority of residences in the Region.
JJ Richards is Council’s waste collection contractor, who have dedicated, separate waste and recycling trucks. All trucks are fitted with video cameras.
- Your general household waste (wheelie bin with dark green lid) is collected weekly with the waste taken to either the Warwick or Stanthorpe Landfills.
- Your recyclables (wheelie bin with yellow lid) is collected fortnightly, on the same day as your waste, and taken to the JJ Richards Material Recovery Facility (MRF) in Toowoomba.
To find out what day your waste and recycling bin is collected, enter your address details in our Online Maps. Look in the top right hand corner of the screen for your waste and recycling day.
Council has also produced a Recycling Bin Collection Calendar (PDF 604.8KB) to assist residents with their waste and recycling bin service day. These calendars are also available from the Warwick & Stanthorpe Administration Offices.
Wheelie Bin Infirm Service
Council offers a collection service for the elderly, disabled or medically immobilised who are unable to put their bins out for collection. The JJ Richards drivers will collect the bins from your property and return the bins once emptied. The service is only offered if there are no residents at the property capable of putting the bins out for collection.
Residents must provide Council with a confirmation letter or medical certificate from a medical practitioner.
