A breath of fresh air! SDRC launch first phase of new campaign, Invest Southern Downs
The region is set to become South East Queensland’s next major growth area with Southern Downs Regional Council getting ready to launch the first phase of its new investment and business attraction campaign: Invest Southern Downs.
SDRC’s Economic Development and Tourism team is working hard behind the scenes on the new campaign in a bid to increase investment in the region through a range of investment attraction activities.
Invest Southern Downs supports SDRC’s broader efforts to attract more residents to the region. Over the next three years, the Southern Downs will welcome more than 1000 new jobs across a range of industries.
SDRC is working closely with new and expanding businesses, which are looking to establish themselves or expand in the region to ensure their long-term success and sustainability and to grow the region’s economy.
Invest Southern Downs will deliver a range of economic benefits to the region including increasing the number of jobs in the region, opportunity for growth in the region’s existing sectors and driving new business and the production of goods and services.
In recent weeks, SDRC has launched its new Invest Southern Downs video and Life on the Southern Downs brochure, the first of a long line-up of marketing activities planned as a part of the campaign.
The new video is just some of the refreshed content planned for an update and relaunch of the current Invest Southern Downs website.
To help fund Invest Southern Downs, SDRC has applied for $50,000 in funding via the Australian Government’s Building Better Region’s Fund Community Investments Stream, and is currently awaiting the outcome of the application.
The $481.6 million Building Better Regions Fund supports the Australian Government’s commitment to create jobs, drive economic growth and build stronger regional communities into the future.
