Next Stage of Killarney Streetscape Construction to Commence

Southern Downs Regional Council will begin construction on the next stage of the Killarney Streetscape on Tuesday 19th September 2017 (weather permitting).

The work will start on the western side of Killarney at the end of the previous stage, continuing south along Willow Street to the Pat Bush Park entrance and includes replacement of the kerb and channel, footpath, property access and some alterations to the water service.

It is expected that the construction will take between five and six weeks to complete.

There will be a traffic management scheme in place and at various times Traffic Controllers with stop/go signs will be operating.

Council advises that there will be some disruption to parking along Willow Street on both the western and eastern sides.

It is expected that within the five to six week time period, Council will complete only the western side of the streetscape but if Council runs ahead of schedule, work may begin on the replacement of the water main on the eastern side.

Council thanks all those affected for their patience during this time.

Below is a photo with extent of works.
