Proposal to Relocate the Leslie Memorial Gates/Glengallan Gates

Council is inviting comments from the public prior to considering a proposal to relocate the Leslie Memorial Gates, also known as the Glengallan Gates, to Glengallan Homestead.

The Leslie Memorial Gates/Glengallan Gates are the sandstone pillars and irons gates located at the south-western corner of Leslie Park, across from the Warwick Court House.  The gates were gifted to Council by the owner of Glengallan Homestead in 1940 to mark the centenary of the Leslie Brothers settling in the area.  Requests have been made to Council to return the gates to Glengallan Homestead for the 150th anniversary of the homestead later this year.

Council's report to the Special Meeting on 13 March 2017 on this issue is available for viewing HERE .

The consultation period will end on 14 April 2017.

Comments are to be sent to Southern Downs Regional Council at PO Box 26, Warwick  Qld  4370 or
