Tourism businesses encouraged to update info
The Southern Downs Regional Council is encouraging all tourism operators to ensure their details are up to date with Council.
The new Southern Downs and Granite Belt Visitor Guide 2017/18 provides visitors to the Southern Downs with a comprehensive overview of things to see and do across region.
The Visitor Guide will be an annual publication which will be a vital tool in marketing our region at Visitor Information Centres across Queensland and New South Wales and also targeting new visitors at various tourism events. The publication will feature a directory of all tourism operators in the region and is due for publication in April, following consultation with Council’s Tourism Advisory Committee.
Popular features include history and heritage section, tourist drives, festivals and events, tours, fishing and fossicking, cycling and National Parks, along with maps.
Portfolio Chair for Tourism Cr Rod Kelly said the number of tourism operators in the region is always expanding, so it’s important to ensure everyone is included.
“The Southern Downs and Granite Belt region is such a unique tourism destination and we’re blessed with a growing number of wonderful operators across accommodation, events, activities, wineries, restaurants and more.”
“Our focus is on ensuring all providers are included in the region’s guide and all contact information is accurate.”
Existing and new businesses are encouraged to submit their updated information through an online form at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/sdrcvisitorguide.
The new Visitor Guide is due for publication in April, along with a brand new tourism website for the region.
